Meet Karlo

Karlo X. Ramos is puertorican photographer and director living in Dallas, TX. Karlo started his carrer as a musician then he transitioned to photographing rock shows pretty soon after that he was appointed by SPIN Earth, part of the online presence of SPIN magazine at that time, as the first correspondent to cover the music scene in the island of Puerto Rico. His accolades include among others a finalist mention During the Billboard Marketing Awards 2011 for the Viral Campaign he filmed and documented for Heineken/Nacional Records Road trip 2010. a year before he . Karlo’s photography have been published extensively online and in print and his videos have appeared in latin Network channels like Univision,Telemundo,Tr3s, Mun2, among others.

Karlo graduated from a Marketing Bachelors at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla Campus and holds a Master of Arts in Media Studies from the New School University. These days Karlo works primarily in film making although he is equally adept in still photography. He counts photographers like Jim Marshall, Richard Avedon and Bod Gruen among his influences
