Im really happy with the outcome of the video. Honestly at times I thought: How the hell I’m going to cut this? Being that production was a bit chaotic, unscheduled, un-butgeted… you know a royal mess we even had people who literally ended up in the hospital. Nothing serious though. Nevertheless with patience (and rum!) it turned out great. All post was done at Macoyo’s (Los Petardos!) beach house, mainly because i was moving to East Texas and most of my equipment was either shipped or in storage. Being able to work in such environment was key to the overall feel of the final cut. The company, the beach, the food all the best the west coast of Puerto Rico has to offer, overall a great experience. Last but not least a couple of thank you’s are in order first to our friend Jason from El Negocio de Abuelo in Moca for the space. It’s important to say that Los Petardos! started there so it felt right to film in such a place. Also to the talented Jessica Quintana for the wardrobe specially for the girls (“Jibaritas”) which were hand made (we didn’t know she could saw.) and the talent Yamy and Jennifer who beat the living crap out of the guys along with Jessica. On the camera side Riko Gonzalez from RGN Digital Imaging for being my right hand and my other eye, Cristina for the hair /make up and Alexis Perez for documenting.

As hard as it is to differentiate your sound among the vast music cloud that populates the internet these days. Some artists have managed to stay true to their vision and keep struggling during the hardships and perils of making music these days. That’s the case of Celestina Robot whose latest efforts have placed them as a premiere band among the electronic music crowd.

Celestina, as the fans called it have made a strong impression via their live shows which currently incorporate 3d visuals, a move very in tune with today’s entertainment technology. Celestina’s music has a strong electronic core which gets topped with a rock and roll attitude and heavy guitars riffs. As Wilfre Carrasquillo, guitarist and band founder tells us “The way we work is different from other bands in the island. Others may start as a rock band and then add the electronic elements as if it was frosting to a cake. With us is different Celestina Robot is electro and rock”.

Celestina Robot’s lattest effort Beautiful Accidents (2008) is available via a FREE digital download through their profile at Reverb Nation Currently the band is working on their next album Ultimatum which will feature a more aggressive and sound as the band tries to find the perfect mix between the machine and man.

It was the night of Nov 11, Veteran’s day; A day to remember which just got a new meaning for the fans of The Killers as they brought a little bit of their Vegas style and flair for the first time to Puerto Rico with an over the top production that helped stamp in permanent memory one of the best spectacles and Rock concerts the island has seen so far.

The night started quite early with a local band that won a Coors Light online contest to open for The Killers. Polbo took the stage around 9:30 p.m. and played for about 30-45 min. They pleased the audience with their quirky alternative style very much in tune with the likes of Weezer but with a Latin influence. Two songs stood out from their set as rare gems, one was “Negra,” and other was “Te quiero Mucho” a track that they are currently promoting a video for.

When the lights of the coliseum dimmed, a huge wall of virtual speakers appeared in the background LED’s thumping the driving beat of “Human” as Brandon Flowers, David Keuning, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci took the stage to kick start the concert. The show felt like a roller coaster, reaching peaks with old favorites like “Somebody Told Me” from their first album Hot Fuss. To me, a personal favorite was The Killers cover of Joy Division‘s “Shadowplay” halfway through the set. You could really feel the intensity of the song as they transformed it with a solid driver beat.

By the end of the show, the band performed a crowd favorite “Mr. Brightside” taking the audience to another level. The show ended with Three encores including “A Dustland Fairytale” then a sweet version of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” immediately followed by “Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine” and finished off with “When You Were Young.”
